Express Entry

Since 2015, immigration for professionals and skilled immigrants to Canada has been managed through the Express Entry system, which now has a processing time of up to 6 months. It is an online selection system for candidates who qualify for immigration through one of the three federal economic immigration classes:

  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class

The system rank candidates in the pool using a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). It selects the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them to apply for permanent residence. In addition to three federal immigration classes, almost all Canadian provinces and territories have their own Provincial Express Entry stream.

Provincial Nominee Program

PNPs or Provincial Nominee Programs are programs that have been designed by provincial governments in cooperation with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to facilitate the process of settling, finding work, and adapting in specific provinces in Canada for specific groups of foreign nationals. Within these programs, each province decides based on its requirements what groups of foreign nationals would do better and help boost the local economy. Provincial Nominee Programs offer a great opportunity for employers to find workers and nominate people with the right skills to get permanent resident status. Provinces and territories including Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia and New Brunswick can grant a Provincial Nomination to a candidate from the Express Entry pool. Provincial Nomination gives the candidate 600 additional CRS points, therefore guaranteeing the ITA for PR. Our expert immigration consultants at Mapstat Consults are here to assist you a number of provinces in order to receive an ITA. If you think you have a better chance of immigrating to a specific province, we will be happy to evaluate your chances.
